Goodwill recycles used phones. |
Getting a New Cell Phone? Because of today’s ever-improving technology in the wireless world, more people are getting new cell phones more often. When you get a new phone, why not donate your old phone and charger to Goodwill? Donated phones are reprogrammed with 911 and other emergency information and donated to local domestic violence programs. Your old phone can help save a life when it is used to call for help by a victim of abuse. Goodwill Industries has been receiving donations of used cell phones since September 1999 when the “Donate-A-Phone” program was launched. Millions of phones are being replaced every year; Goodwill is helping to keep them out of the landfill and into the hands of people who need them. You can donate your phone at any Goodwill Retail Store, Attended Donation Center or by contacting Chad Smith at 814-371-2821 or chad.smith@goodwillinc.org. If your organization or school would like information about starting a collection site for used phones, contact Katie Charles at 814-371-2821 or katie.charles@goodwillinc.org. Goodwill also accepts your donations of: Computers and Computer Equipment
